Lightwire Theater AND Corbian Visual Arts & Dancebrought their amazing production of The Ugly Duckling to the Gallo Center last season. Now they are returning with A Very Electric Christmas, a captivating and magical tale of adventure, friendship and love centered on a young bird named Max going home for the holidays. Performed in complete darkness with dazzling, cutting-edge 'lightwire' technology, moving sculpture and dance, the show features Nutcracker soldiers with candy-canes, naughty rats, an electric Christmas tree surrounded by presents, glow worms, dancing flowers and other creatures that light up the stage—all set to timeless holiday music by Mariah Carey, Nat King Cole, Tchaikovsky, and more. This is a show your family will talk about for years to come.

Compañía Mazatlán Bellas Artes (CMBA) presents a whirlwind of colorful wardrobes and festival of ancestral sounds in ”Diciembre Navideño,” an exhilarating Mexican Christmas production! CMBA artistic Director Zenón Barrón opens a window to the evolution of Christmas in Mexico across space and time. From the Tarazcos and Nahuas indigenous rituals of central Mexico; to the “callejoneadas” of modern Jalisco; to the African-influenced dances of Oaxaca; to the theatrical Pastorelas of theatrical mastermind Miguel Sabido, CMBA will feature the 20 dancers and musicians on stage for an end-of-the year celebration.

Warm up to the holidays as Opus Handbell returns to the Gallo Center with their exquisitely beautiful music to celebrate the season. The Modesto area has been fortunate to have this advanced, 15-member handbell choir to call its own for many years. While they often play at the Modesto Symphony Orchestra's pops and candlelight concerts, an entire program of their own holiday music is a new tradition at the Center!

David Benoit Christmas Tribute to Charlie Brown. The first ever Peanuts animated television special took place in 1965. A Charlie Brown Christmas has been enjoyed by fans of all ages around the world ever since. Now, 50 years later, smooth jazz piano legend David Benoit pays tribute to this incredible piece of entertainment history with an inspirational tribute concert featuring the classic music of Vince Guaraldi along with A Charlie Brown Christmas originals from Benoit himself, who took over the helm as music composer for the new Charlie Brown Christmas TV specials more than a decade ago. The show also will feature the young voices of a local children’s choir (to be announced).
