Norman Foote is an award-winning entertainer from Vancouver, British Columbia who has received international acclaim for his songwriting, outrageous props and off-beat sense of humor in performing children’s music. His stage show is uniquely Norman and is innovative both musically and visually. This celebrated performer has created a special niche in the music world and amassed a cross-generational following. Norman will be joined by the Great Valley Academy Choir for this very special performance!

THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR AND OTHER ERIC CARLE FAVORITES. This delightful production, from the esteemed Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, is based on Eric Carle’s beloved stories. It includes the tale of The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s metamorphosis into a beautiful butterfly; the fanciful account of Little Cloud’s travels through the sky; and The Mixed-Up Chameleon’s discovery of his own unique nature. Innovative “black light” staging techniques highlight stunning puppetry and props. The work follows closely the books from which they are adapted, providing a new generation with a seamless entry into the world of theatre and music.

LUMA plunges the audience into a darkened space where a tapestry of illuminated illusions fills the stage. Using high and low technology the work of shadowed performers splashes brilliant images of color and motion across the stage in an interplay of shadow and light. The show, which has been seen in 15 countries, combines rhythmic gymnastics, dance, magic, puppetry and physics. LUMA is a singular experience that mesmerizes and mystifies, leaving audiences full of wonder, slack jawed and goggle-eyed.

Their generosity and cleverness save the shoemaker from a bleak and unhappy holiday!

The grandeur of the Mediterranean is the backdrop for this delightful comedy. Two fake weavers convince the vain Emperor that they can create cloth so fine, that foolish people cannot see it. The Emperor buys invisible clothes and parades around his kingdom. All his subjects convince themselves that they see the beautiful clothes in order not to appear foolish. The charade is unmasked when a child observes that the Emperor has no clothes! Suggested for grades K-6.

Based on the book series by Jane O’Conner and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser, Fancy Nancy the Musical is coming to the Gallo Center in a production by the award-winning Vital Theatre Company. The story follows Nancy and her friends Bree, Rhonda, Wanda, and Lionel, who are going to be performing in their very first show, Deep Sea Dances. Nancy is positive, that’s fancy for 100 percent sure, that she and Bree will be picked to be mermaids. When another girl wins the coveted role of the mermaid, Nancy is stuck playing a dreary, dull tree. Can Nancy bring fancy flair to her role, even though it isn’t the one she wanted? This show is geared towards children 4-10 years old.
