VALLEY'S GOT TALENT 2015
Co-presented by the Gallo Center and the Modesto Bee, it’s the sixth annual edition of the talent show that has amazed our community each and every year! Come out and experience the exciting artists from around the  San Joaquin Valley—singers,  dancers, musicians, bands and more—as they compete in the finals for cash prizes and glory after months of auditions and rehearsals. The prizes are awarded to the grand prize winner, as well to competitors in vocal, dance, instrumental, band, specialty and audience favorite categories. Friday evening's performance is the audience voting show. Prize winners are announced after the Saturday finals performance.

Norman Foote, the award-winning entertainer from Vancouver, British Columbia who performed last season at the Center with the Great Valley Academy Choir, returns by popular demand--and he'll be performing with the choir once again! Foote has received international acclaim for his songwriting, outrageous props and off-beat sense of humor in performing children’s music. His stage show is uniquely Norman and is innovative both musically and visually. This celebrated performer has created a special niche in the music world and has amassed a cross-generational following.

Imagine parents honestly being able to enjoy the music that their children enjoy. Imagine soulful and current renditions of the ABC’s, 1-2-3’s, and learning how to be polite. Imagine a diverse, and incredibly hip duo, teaching children through music on an animated train. That's "Disney's Choo-Choo Soul with Genevieve," an enormously popular children's show on TV and stage. This 2007 Parent's Choice Award winner features perky Genevieve Goings as the Train Conductor assisted by DC, her beatboxing and breakdancing engineer played by Constantine Abramson.

This show was the surprise hit of the Gallo Center's 2013-2014 season. Originally booked for one performance in the 440-seat Foster Family Theater, it sold out four shows. For this return engagement, it's moving next door to the 1,250-seat Mary Stuart Rogers Theater! Stunt Dog Experience is created, directed and hosted by Stockton native Chris Perondi. And what a show it is! You’ll see dancing dogs, amazing dog tricks, big stunts, athletic feats and comedy antics, too. It’s a high energy event with incredible performances—all by dogs adopted from shelters and pounds across the country.

Lightwire Theater and Corbian Visual Arts & Dance brought “A Very Electric Christmas” to the Center last season and by popular demand it's coming back! This is a captivating and magical tale of adventure, friendship and love centered on a young bird named Max going home for the holidays. Performed in complete darkness with dazzling, cutting-edge 'lightwire' technology, moving sculpture and dance, the show features Nutcracker soldiers with candy-canes, naughty rats, an electric Christmas tree surrounded by presents, glow worms, dancing flowers and other creatures that light up the stage—all set to timeless holiday music by Mariah Carey, Nat King Cole, Tchaikovsky, and more.

Only one show has played every year at the Gallo Center since it opened in 2007, and this is it.  Holiday season after holiday season, children have laughed when two merry elves arrive  at a small village in the Black Forest to discover a poor, kindly shoemaker and his wife who clearly need assistance.  Their generosity and cleverness save the shoemaker from a bleak and unhappy holiday!

Dr. Arthur Benjamin is a Professor of Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California. He is also a professional magician, and in this entertaining and fast-paced performance, Dr. Benjamin will demonstrate how to mentally add and multiply numbers faster than a calculator, how to figure out the day of the week of any date in history, and other amazing feats of mind. He is winner of the national teaching award from the Mathematical Association of America, and was listed by Princeton Review as one America's Top 300 Professors.
