Formed in London in 1970 by U.S. Air Force brats, America is the Grammy-winning folk-rock band known for rich harmonies and hits like “A Horse with No Name,“ “I Need You,“ “Tin Man,“ “Lonely People,“ “Don't Cross the River,“ “Sister Golden Hair,“ and “Ventura Highway.“ Their combination of melodic pop rock and folk-jazz elements, slinky Latin-leaning rhythms and impressionistic lyric imagery contrasted well with other more traditional country-rock leanings and highly personal lyrics. America has sold millions upon millions of recordings. This will be just their third appearance at the Center.
