This performance is on sale to Gallo Center donors only through May 22, 2026. It goes on sale to the public on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 10 am. You can purchase tickets before the public when you become a Gallo Center member.
Like many triumphantly gifted female singers who have transcended barriers, Grammy Award-winner Ledisi was inspired by Dinah Washington, one of the 20th century's most important and influential artists. Known as “Queen of the Blues“ and “Queen of the Jukeboxes,“ Washington counted among her other devoted disciples a gospel singer from Detroit named Aretha Franklin.
But whereas Franklin is a household name and cultural icon, Washington, despite being wildly popular in her heyday, is tragically overlooked by the public now. It's a problem that Ledisi hopes to correct with both For Dinah, her superb tribute album, and in concerts like this one. Expect this wonderfully talented soul/jazz/R&B singer to deliver a healthy serving of her idol!
