Born in Mozambique, but raised since she was a girl in one of the most emblematic and traditional neighborhoods of Lisbon, Mariza was influenced from a very early age by the musical culture that inhabits every corner of that nation: Fado. She quickly became a local phenomenon and then made her name echo across borders. She has sold more than 30 platinum albums, collecting numerous national and international awards along the way. Mariza transcends even her own name, serving as an ambassador of her nation in her own right with every note, every song and every concert.
